HIV Services

Comprehensive outpatient care for people with HIV

This is provided at both our Oxford and Banbury GU clinics. Specialist drug advice and help with medication problems are provided by HIV specialist pharmacy teams to both doctors and patients.

Medical clinics

It is very important that those who attend GUM for HIV care (and certain other conditions) are seen during a "medical clinic" session where you will see a doctor trained in HIV care. We have already informed many of our patients on how to arrange this but if you are uncertain please indicate that you are HIV +ve, or need to attend the medical clinic, when booking an appointment.

These clinics provide a full range of outpatient treatment and care for people with HIV infection, as well as sexual health care and ongoing support.

We also have close links with an HIV Community Support Team and a specialist social worker for people living with HIV who regularly attends the HIV clinics to provide support, including social care needs assessments.

PEPSE

Both our Banbury and Oxford clinics provide assessment of the need for Post exposure Prophylaxis following Sexual Exposure (PEPSE), and ongoing treatment if necessary.
